On The
Road Again: A Geopolitical Survey of the United States
The US Government classes of North
Hagerstown High School (MD, USA) have researched regions of the United
States by way of traditional information sources. You are invited to
contribute to our research by sending e-mail data on any of the following
topics dealing with your state, region or community:
- The history of your state or region (entry into the Union, overall political tendency,
demographic changes);
- The current economic activities and corporations that make up the economy of your region;
- Any information and/or evaluation of your current local and state government officials,
and your representatives on the federal level;
- Any comments on the state of the environment in your area, including the biome,
indigenous plants and animals, and temperature/rainfall averages for your region or
locality, and issues now being faced by the people and legislature of your area.
The regions have been divided as follows:

Students have completed research in cooperative groups using library resources as well as
the World Wide Web and CD-ROM databases. We hope additional information will be supplied
by you, the on-line educational community.
The students have submitted the
following final projects as a culminating activity for
this unit. We hope you'll visit and respond with feedback.
We look forward to any and all contributions to our research. We are hoping for
a wide range of participants from all levels of education, from all aspects of the
American community, and in all forms of expression.
If you think you know the
regions of the United States pretty well, take a shot at our quizzes!
Good luck!
Thanks for your involvement!
