Two Poems By Ashley B.

TOO STRONG TO SHUT DOWN

Too many voices scream out loud,
For you to claim you don't hear.

We hold our chins up so proud
We work and show you that we don't fear.

You take and take, but never give back
You can't work us to death,and I swear I won't crack.

Too many tears fall down pail faces
For you to claim that you don't see.

We hold strong to our beliefs and places,
We won't turn to what you wish us to be.

You take and take, but never give back
You can't work us to death, and I swear won't crack

SENSES

I see the blood,
It is like a big red flood.
I hear the screams,
If only they were bad dreams.
I smell the burnt skin,
from toe to chin.
I taste the bad bread,
God, if only I were dead.
I feel the horror in my bones,
From my lips wail the moans.
I sense the hate around me,
God, why has this come to be?
