Teachers, parents, students, and visitors:

We are all concerned for our students, our children, and ourselves as we deal with the depth of the tragedy that took place on September 11, 2001. As educators, helping our young people understand what happened and why is a job that has top priority.

I hope we can impart a message of understanding to our fellow citizens even though the days ahead will be injected with grief and outrage.

Let us strive to bring about unity against evil and work to improve understanding between all people.

Our thoughts are with you...
